It’s cold, snowy & obviously as its January, very wintery!!! It’s the best time of the year to embrace creating a nice, warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people around you; that is the very essence of Hygge. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family – that’s hygge too. And let’s not forget the eating and drinking – preferably sitting around tables for hours on end discussing the big and small things in life. That’s all Hygge!!
For the week beginning January 23rd we’ll be celebrating & living everything that is Hygge at Inox & on the evening of Thursday January 26th we’ll he hosting a celebration of Hygge food & drinks – the perfect opportunity to relax & unwind with great friends & family with food & drink that will totally immerse you in the spirit of Hygge.
Why not start your evening with a sweet treat; perhaps a Cinnamon Bun followed by a Smorrebrod (Dense Dark Rye Bread) with a choice of amazing toppings (Hot & Cold Smoked Salmon with dill and lemon crème fraiche or Atlantic Prawns with sour cream and boiled egg etc.)?
Desserts are a must; maybe a Aeblesiver (Danish Apple Doughnut) or a Sheffield Honey Junket with Ginger Nuts.
Hygge first appeared in Danish writing around the end of the 18th Century and the Danes have embraced it ever since; we certainly hope to do the same with regular Thursday evening Hygge events throughout the year at Inox.
